When the Texas heat sets in, finding a reliable way to cool down is a top priority for Houston-area residents. Just outside the city in Dayton, Texas, Angel Lagoon offers a sprawling aquatic oasis and slice of island life to the Lone Star State.
Opened in 2024, the venue centers around four acres of crystal-clear turquoise water. It serves as the anchor for a 40-acre mixed-use amenity village, all situated within a larger 150-acre development property.
What to do at Angel Lagoon
Angel Lagoon operates as a year-round destination for both relaxation and recreation. The expansive waters allow for a variety of aquatic attractions, including: paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing, and an aqua course. Each of the activities requires additional purchase.
Earlier this year, Angel Lagoon debuted a new swim-up bar, where visitors can order from a selection of cocktails, beer, and tropical drinks.
Beachy amenities at the lagoon
Beyond the water, the venue is equipped for full-day outings with amenities designed for lounging, dining, and live entertainment.
The venue features on-site cabanas available for rental priced at $400 for parties up to five people. Otherwise, beach lounges and umbrellas are complimentary.
Visitors can grab a bite at the open-air palapa grill, which serves up tropical cocktails, burgers, and tacos, or check out a rotating selection of local food trucks. On-site food trucks include Bobby’s Texas BBQ, My Ice Party, Cajun Eats & Sweets, and Mac N Taco.
For those looking to unwind, the property features a hammock lawn, beach volleyball courts, and an amphitheater with a floating stage dedicated to live music performances.
