Alamo Drafthouse Introduces Alamo-At-Home Streaming Service

Turn your screen into the big screen.

Beloved, boozy, Texas-based cinema, Alamo Drafthouse is bringing their services to your home for your viewing pleasure. Now, you can experience some of today’s best arthouse and independent cinema from your couch.

As mentioned in a statement from the drafthouse, theaters throughout the country have had to close amidst the COVID-19 outbreak.

In order to cope, many adapted to what’s been dubbed “Virtual Cinema”, a digital platform that allows viewers support the theaters by streaming their films from home.

Our theaters are currently closed, but that doesn’t have to mean our communities have to remain shuttered as well,” said Tim League, Founder and CEO of Alamo Drafthouse.

Alamo Drafthouse announced their Alamo-At-Home initiative in partnership with Film Movement, Kino Lorber, and Magnolia Pictures distributors.

Furthermore, the cinema club is collaborating with the American Genre Film Archive to stream their Terror Tuesday and Weird Wednesday series.

In addition to the Virtual Cinema screenings of the series, viewers will also be able to watch introductions, interviews, and discussions before the shows via Birth. Movies. Death.

The first screening of their Terror Tuesday series preceded the writing of this article, but their Weird Wednesday series will kick off next Wednesday, April 8 with Godmonster of Indian Flats, a film about a mutated sheep that terrorizes an American Ranch. The movie will be streamed in 4K resolution.

Alamo will feature Terror Tuesdays and Weird Wednesdays alternating each week for the time to come.

In addition, the following films will be available on the Alamo-At-Home streaming service: Corpus Christi, Balloon, Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson And The Band, The Whistlers, The Perfect Nanny, The Wild Goose Lake, and Bacurau.

Alamo lovers will also rejoice in the fact that comedy-movie-spoof troop, Master Pancake Theater, are currently working on their own live-streaming to be made available on Twitch.
