Alright, alright, alright.
The most iconic line of Matthew McConaughey’s career just happened to be his first on film – in an improvised scene no less. That said, it’s by no means the only memorable line from Richard Linklater’s Austin, Texas-shot coming-of-age classic, Dazed and Confused. As a part of their Support Local Cinemas campaign, Alamo Drafthouse will be screening the film in its theaters this April followed by a Q&A with cast members hosted by Jack Black via Zoom. Starting on 4/20, burning into May, Alamo Drafthouse locations across the US, including their cinemas in Austin, DFW, Houston, and San Antonio will be lighting up their screens with special screenings of Dazed and Confused.
“Like the LORD OF THE RINGS Cast Reunion with Stephen Colbert, Alamo Drafthouse is offering the DAZED AND CONFUSED Cast Reunion as part of our Support Local Cinemas campaign,” the cinema wrote on their website.
“That means that theaters across the world will show the movie with the post-screening conversation beginning 4/20 and continuing into May. To submit a question to the DAZED AND CONFUSED panel, use hashtag #Dazed on Twitter.”
The Q&A, hosted by Jack Black and recorded via Zoom, will feature appearances from stars Matthew McConaughey, Parker Posey, and writer/director Richard Linklater.
Tickets to the event start at $10.50. Reunion-related events will be available for private bookings. Conversations will also be released on their cinema streaming site, Alamo On Demand, later this year.
Don’t want to support your local cinemas? It’d be a lot cooler if you did.
