This October, Silver Street Studios in Sawyer Yards venue is hosting Art After Dark, a new after-hours experience for guests 21 and older that puts Houston hip-hop legend Mike Jones on the headline slot and wraps art, music, technology, and nightlife into one event.
The night centers on large-scale projection mapping that uses the warehouse’s soaring industrial interiors as a canvas for custom digital content created specifically for the event, alongside works from Silver Street’s resident artists.
Immersive installations, specialty cocktails, local food vendors, and a curated DJ lineup round out the evening. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the event runs until 11 p.m., with Jones closing the night with a 45-minute set.
Jones is a fitting headliner for an event built around Houston identity. A defining voice of the city’s mid-2000s hip-hop scene, he helped bring Houston’s distinctive sound to a national audience — and “Still Tippin‘” has never really left the city’s cultural playlist.
