Spooky season is here, Houston! It’s time to get your blood pumping with electrifying haunted houses, blood chilling movies, and harrowing Halloween experiences in Houston. Kicking off this mid-October, resident pop-up palace, Popfancy Dessert Bar, are transforming their space into The Outbreak: A Zombie Apocalypse Dining Experience.
The all-ages event takes place at Popfancy Dessert Bar, a Bellaire-centric cafe known for its lively pop-ups with themes ranging from pirates, to Dragon Ball Z, retro arcades, and all things anime.
From October 11 to November 10, Popfancy will debut its latest petrifying pop-up, The Outbreak, with four weeks of over-the-top decor, themed eats, and drinks, and cosplay.
“THIS JUST IN: There’s been a Worldwide Outbreak plaguing our streets. Seek shelter immediately, your nearest Quarantine Zone: Popfancy Dessert Bar,” the cafe wrote in an Instagram post.
Each week of the pop-up will feature a unique theme, or more specifically, virus – Wildfire Virus, Cordyceps Fungus, T-Virus, and Forced Evolutionary Virus, respectively.
Ahead of the new pop-up’s debut, Popfancy Dessert Bar has released its menu for the coming event. Much like its other events, the dessert bar will offer a menu of beverages, sweets, build-your-own sundaes, and a small selection of savory bites.
Featured menu items include the glowing Nuclear Waste coconut juisce, topped with creamy matcha foam; Bloater Belly concha filled with vanilla ice cream, topped with salted caramel sauce, wild berries, and bloody berry sauce; and Firefly Trashcan Nachos fixed with nacho cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream, and chives served in a tiny tin trashcan.
The Outbreak Zombie Apocalypse pop-up in Houston is a free, all-ages event. Per usual, walk-ins are welcome but the venue recommends making reservations beforehand to avoid lines.
The pop-up takes place between October 11 and November 10 at Popfancy Dessert Bar located at 9393 Bellaire Blvd. a6. The venue is open from 1 pm to 10 pm daily.
