Sip and swirl at the new Vine Memorial. Located in the vicinity of Hunters Creek Village and Tanglewood districts and Chimeny Rock Road, Vine Memorial is a new 2,544-square-foot wine shop and bar where aspiring sommeliers can sample, sip, and educate themselves on wine.
Now open, Vine Memorial is a concept from Gr8 Plate Hospitality. The Houston-based restaurant group is the team behind The Union Grill, Passerella, The Rollin’ Kitchen, and Jax Grill. The group recently debuted their latest concept, Vine Memorial, at 7951 Katy Fwy Unit B.
The new wine store and bar in the Katy area seats 78 guests and features over 2,544-square-feet of space as well as 200 wines (hand selected by the hospitality group members along with renowned Master Sommelier Guy Stout) from around the world. Remodeled by Doris Miller, the space features the Oil Man’s Lounge private room seating up to 24 people.
This spring, the venue plans to open a 720-square-foot open patio.
“With Vine Memorial, we’re taking an ambitious leap,” Paul Miller said. “Doris and I fell in love with the world of wine together, and we’ve assembled a team of educated somms to spread that joy with every adventurous glass we pour.”
Here, the wine store hosts Happy Hours, lunches, as well as educational and tasting wine classes where Houstonians can get schooled on everything wine. Open daily from 11 am to 10 pm, Vine Memorial will also feature a selection of pizzas, sandwiches, charcuterie, and salads from chef James Lundy.
“Wine can transport you somewhere else,” Paul Miller said. “You’re tasting a bit of the world where the grapes were grown with every glass and bottle. In a way, Vine Memorial is in the transportation business.”
Vine Memorial is now open at 7951 Katy Fwy Unit B, Houston, TX 77024.
