1. Houston Will Host FIFA World Cup Games in 2026
This Thursday, FIFA officials selected Houston as one of the North American cities to host the World Cup games in 2026.
2. A Princess-Themed Indian Restaurant has Opened in Houston
For Amrina, a word meaning “princess” in Urdu, the group partnered named chef Japratap “Jassi” Bindra as its head, executive chef, and managing partner. Before coming to Houston, Bindra cooked at Punjab Grill, a highly acclaimed, incredibly luxurious restaurant in DC. As with the Singh brothers, Bindra is also invested in story, specifically, of a roving Indian princess.
3. Baseball-Themed Entertainment Venue Swinging into Houston Next Year
If baseball weren’t big enough in Houston, the city will get its very own baseball-themed entertainment center this coming year. Austin-based Home Run Dugout is slated to open a standalone complex in Katy early 2023 with batting bays, biergarden, dog park, full restaurant, and more.

Dinner and a movie is one thing, but how about dinner and a horseback riding? 5. Float Down The World’s Longest Lazy River Here in Texas
It’s summertime, Houston. Don’t let it pass you by without taking part in one of state’s longest standing seasonal traditions: floating. While there are a number of lazy rivers in Houston, if you want to go big this summer, you’ll have to coast down to Waco Surf waterpark, which boasts the longest lazy river in the world.
6. Dig This Gorgeous Garden-Themed Patio Bar in Midtown
There’s beer gardens, then there’s literal beer gardens. Planted in Midtown, The Garden is a lush bar and patio that features daily brunch specials, champagne flights, live music, and more.
7. Houston’s Own Julep Bar Lands Coveted James Beard Award
Fresh off the heels of earning the title of one of the best bars in North America, Julep cocktail bar in Houston has earned an even greater prestige: the James Beard Award.
