As seen on prominent media outlets such as ESPN, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Sports Illustrated, and ESPN+, with the latter streaming their 2022 World Tour documentary series ‘Bananaland,’ the Savannah Bananas are a baseball-themed entertainment spectacle.
Similar to the Harlem Globetrotters, the Savannah Bananas participate in top-tier baseball contests, adding a circus-style flair to their gameplay. In contrast to traditional baseball, they adhere to the rules of “banana ball,” resulting in a quicker pace. Notably, actions like bunting and receiving walks are prohibited, and if a spectator manages to catch a foul ball, it results in an out for the defensive team.
The Bananas routinely sell out stadiums across the country; earlier this year, the team sold out three performances in Houston and the Sugar Land area – the teams were originally scheduled to play a single game until they saw the overwhelming demand.
Next March, the team will host their baseball circus at the Minute Maid Park on March 9.
Tickets are not yet on sale for the event, though interested in parties can join the ticket lottery list for the opportunity to get tickets before they go on sale to the public.
Otherwise, we suggest prospect ticket buyers stay tuned to Minute Maid and the Savannah Bananas to be at the ready for the ticket release because we can guarantee that it will be a hot commodity.
