Cocktail-driven putt putt concepts might be all the rage right now, but that doesn’t by any means mean that traditional golf courses are going out of style. This October, take a drive at East River 9’s new public golf course, driving range, bar, and restaurant.
East River 9 is a public, 9-hole golf course. Designed by Smelek Design, the par 3 golf course will offer holes ranging from 80 – 150 yards outfitted with LED stadium lights for night play. In addition to the holes and driving range, the course will also feature a 12,000-square-foot social putting green.
The course recently announced its plans to open its driving range on Friday, October 28, followed by its golf course on Friday, November 4.
If you’re like those of us whose talents are more reserved for the 19th Hole, fear not. East River 9 is a links-style course intended for public use by all skill sets. Plus, its plans for its restaurant, bar, and patio are as equally-impressive as its course.
Located on the grounds of the golf course overlooking Buffalo Bayou and Downtown Houston, Riverhouse Houston restaurant and patio will feature a sweeping terrace for outdoor games, live music, fire pits, and a playscape for the kiddos. Menu-wise, Riverhouse plans to offer a scratch-kitchen menu as well as curated selection of all the major golf necessities – beer, wine, and spirits.
The course has yet to say when its restaurant and bar will open.
