Heads up, Houston, a new rooftop venue may be coming to town. Restoration Hardware is reportedly in the works for an immersive new four-story store, restaurant, and rooftop deck in Houston at the Highland Village shopping center.
Formerly known as Restoration Hardware, RH is a luxury home shopping destination. The company has 84 outlets and 24 restaurants across the United States, in which its stores offer immersive experiences in the form of multi-story facilities emulating high-end estates with many housing restaurants, bars, and rooftops.
As you may know, RH presently has a 30,000-square-foot location in Houston at Highland Village, RH Gallery, that features a rooftop garden and conservatory. The venue, opened in 2011, does not include a rooftop. According to a report by BISNOW, the company is seeking to build its massive new venue at 4085 Westheimer Road just across the street from its existing facility.
RH previously had plans to build a four-story structure and rooftop restaurant in Autry Park, as reported by Eater back in 2021. Since then, however, there’s been no word of its development. Furthermore, it’s also uncertain what will become of the present RH Gallery venue in Highland Village if plans on the new development move forward, though presumably the new venue would replace it.
The new RH restaurant and rooftop is subject to approval by the Houston Planning Commission – specifically in regards to reducing street distance to for small sections of the building. Presently occupying the space at 4085 Westheimer is a retail building that houses Janie and Jack children’s clothing store. The site was also the former home of one of the first Starbucks in Houston.
As pointed out by BISNOW, the Highland Village website features a map of its tenants, with the message: Future RH (Summer 2026) at the planned site.
