Get your game on at FAO HTX.
Whether your idea of gaming is Pacman, shooting hoops, ping-pong, or drinking cocktails over a game of cards, Houston’s new speakeasy, FAO HTX, has got you covered. [Featured image: @faohtx]
FAO HTX is now open on the top floor of the same building that houses Pub Fiction at 2303 Smith St. The newly minted speakeasy features over 6,500 square feat of neon-lit entertainment and lounge space. Arcade-wise, guests can hit the joysticks of their Pacman Battle Royal station, Terminator Salvation rig, Game of Thrones-themed pinball, and other games.
Other classic games include their Houston Rockets-themed basketball hoops, ski ball, boxing challenge, and Big Game Hunter.
FAO serves a variety of cocktails that range from The People’s Elbow Old Fashioned ($10) with Teremana Reposado Tequila, honey syrup, and orange bitters to their Siberian Burro ($10) with Sobieski Vodka, fresh ginger syrup, lime juice, and soda. The bar also offers a vibrant selection of fruity cocktails such as their Hawaiian KO ($10) – a pineapple-tinged drink that includes three different varieties of rum amongst other ingredients, and The D ($12) mixed Absolut Peach Vodka, Peach Schnapps, and Sunny Delight. Beer, White Claw, rosé, champagne, and wine are also available.
To nosh on, FAO serves two types of pizza, as well as a variety of Quick Bites, including chips and queso, cheesy bread sticks, and supreme nachos.
As a bar in midtown, FAO also offers a variety of selfie setups with a throwback MTV mural, a dizzying royal installation overlooking their three-story window, as well as a medley of props that’ll illicit the nostalgia.
FAO requires an access code to get into the building, so be sure to save *0317 into your phone before going.
