Maybe it’s just us, but this summer heat has us already ready for fall. This year, Houstonians will be able to celebrate the coming of autumn with more than just Pumpkin Spice Lattes. From Thorn & Moon, the people that bring you Houston’s monthly Magikal Market, comes the Fall Equinox Festival.
Thorn & Moon is a brick-and-mortar apothecary in The Heights that also hosts a witchy market on the first Saturday of the month. This September, the group is adding a special, inaugural Pagan Festival for Houstonians to revel in the autumn season.
“In addition to our monthly event, the Magickal Market at Raven Tower, we are excited to announce the addition of a seasonal pagan festival and special event for Houston’s magickal community, to celebrate the first of Autumn / Mabon holiday,” the group wrote in an Instagram post.
“Join us for Potions & Brews at Saint Arnold Brewing [sic] and our FALL EQUINOX FESTIVAL, filled with magickal, mystical vendors, artists, and readers from our wonderfully talented and witchy family here in Houston.”
The Pagan Festival is scheduled to take place from 6 pm – 11 pm on September 17 at the Saint Arnold Brewery to coincide with the Thorn & Moon Magickal Market. In regards to the latter, the market regularly features live performances, tarot card readings, food, cocktails, and more.
Thorn & Moon is a newly minted apothecary, and occult shop in the Heights there for all your pagan needs. The brick-and-mortar storefront dabbles in witchcrafted wares, ritual tools, jewelry, and accoutrements for the modern eclectic witch. Its inventory, online and in-store, includes the likes of: sigil amulets, custom bespoke spell bottles, hand-printed altar cloths, Tarot card decks, candle sets, brooms, and more.
