Here in Houston, summer is always closer than you think. If you’re looking for a place to cool off this season with a couple poolside cocktails, check out the new Montrose Country Club, now open with a 65-foot cocktail pool, lush canopies, and a celebrity-chef prepared menu.
Now open at 212 Tuam St., Montrose Country Club is a multi-million-dollar, dynamic urban destination that features a 65-foot cocktail pool, courtyard, and chef-driven restaurant. Its opening comes just in time for the city’s warm weather, making it an idyllic spot to recline on a chaise lounge or deck chair under the sun – daiquiri in hand.
We know what you’re thinking but, no, Montrose Country Club is not like that. While the new poolside oasis does tout upscale amenities, it is not exclusive to high-dollar, card-carrying members. Though the venue does patronize members, its pool, restaurant, and courtyard are open to the public with passes – similar to the likes of Marriot Marquis.
“Don’t let the term ‘country club’ mislead you – this is a casual and welcoming neighborhood restaurant featuring a chef-driven menu, mouthwatering cocktails, and a poolside oasis with spirited day and nightlife all merged into one venue, no membership required,” Jeff Harmon, Montrose Country Club founder, said in a statement.
Day passes to the dayclub and pool start at $20 – in the morning – with access after noon available for $25. The club and pool are open from 11 am to 9 pm daily.
At the helm of the Montrose Country Club restaurant is Executive Chef Diego Chairello. The Sicilian native previously showcased his culinary cut The Food Network and was the founding pastry chef at La Sicilia bakery in Montrose.
His work at Montrose Country Club comes to form in savory comfort foods, shared plates, and salads. The restaurant is open from 4 pm to 10 pm Tuesday through Saturday, and from 11 am to 5 pm on Sundays where it will host Drag Brunch.
Harmon previously founded a number of Houston concepts, including ReBar, Revelry, Halo, and Rich’s Houston. As for the latter, Harmon plans to relocate to Midtown, its original location, this spring.
