On the heels of a spectacular season of Top Chef, another…. different type of reality show will take place in Bayou City. Love is Blind, a dating ‘reality’ TV show streaming on Netflix is producing its fifth season in Houston ahead of its premier slated for this September.
For those unfamiliar with the show, Love Is Blind is a show branded as a “social experiment” in which 15 single men and 15 single women strive for love over the course of 10 days. The contestant are located in isolated spaces without the ability of seeing one another.
If and when a connection is fostered, contestants can choose to propose an engagement it’s only when the proposal has been accepted that the contestants can see one another. After which, the two are permitted to go to a resort, meet the other contestants, and so forth…
The popular speed-dating show is hosted by former 98 Degrees star, Nick Lachey, and wife, actress and TV personality, Vanessa Lachey. Over the course of the series, nine couples have gotten married. As of July 2023, seven of which are still together. Love is Blind has been nominated for multiple Emmys.
This will be the fifth season of the show since premiering in 2020. Past seasons took place in Dallas, Seattle, Chicago, and Atlanta. The Bayou City will serve as the backdrop for the upcoming season. Love Is Blind in Houston will premier on Netflix on September 22 with weekly episodes dropping on September 29, October 6, and October 13.
