Easter is going to be lit, y’all.
Lakewood Church officials have revealed a star-studded cast for this Sunday’s Easter Service. On Sunday April 3, the service will include appearances from Kanye West, Mariah Carey, and Tyler Perry.
What did you expect to come of this Easter? Perhaps you thought you would crack open a few chocolate eggs from the Easter basket. Then you would whip up a little brunch. And then afterwords maybe polish off the rest of those chocolate eggs?
Among your plans, did you imagine yourself dressing up in choir-inspired attire as you bounce around to gospel-inspired beats from Kanye West?
Because if you tune into Lakewood Church’s Sunday Service this Easter, that’s very well what you could finding yourself doing.
The Jesus Is King and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy hip-hop artist first linked up with televangelist and co-founder of Lakewood Church, Joel Osteen, last year after the release of West’s gospel-inspired Jesus Is King album. Since then the two have shared a stage together multiple times including once at Yankee Stadium.
Kanye West will be just one of several celebrities joining the Lakewood Church’s Sunday Service broadcast.
TMZ reports that singer, actress, and composer Mariah Carey will pay homage to all the frontline medical professionals battling COVID-19 with her song “hero”.
Actor, producer, and director, Tyler Perry, will also feature in the online broadcast to a message of support for listeners as Yeezus provides background audio tracking.
The service will be pre-recorded this Friday, April 10, according to church officials and will be available for streaming on Sunday through its website.
