A young Houston fan was able to do everything this writer wanted – to play a game of catch with Shane Falco– err Keanu Reeves.
For the past few months, Reeves has been on tour with his band, Dog Star, ahead of the release of their new studio album, Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees. At their Houston tour date, performed at the House of Blues this past September, a young fan had a lucky encounter with Reeves that went well beyond a photograph.
The young fan by the name of Elijah is the grandson of Annette Cruz a self-professed celebrity chaser who likens meeting celebrities to catching fish.
While at the House of Blues ahead of the scheduled Dog Star performance, Cruz and her two grandchildren, Caleb and Elijah, ‘caught’ Reeves. Upon request, Reeves signed the boys’ various Funko Pop dolls. Afterwards, Elijah asked the Matrix star for a game of catch.
He is such a perfect soul that he would play ball with his little fan and gift him the most precious moment of his life😇 He must be protected at all cost!! 🤩❤️
🎥Thanks for sharing Annette Morales Cruz 🙏🏻✨

“And when I got his signature and my brother got his signature, I asked him if he could play catch with me,” Elijah said.
“I asked him the first time and he kind of mumbled something. But I didn’t hear him so I asked him again and he said ‘yeah come on let’s go.'”
The two then proceeded to play a short game of catch.
Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees is the third album released by the group, now available. The band’s concert in Houston will be the first time that Dogstar has played in the city since their performance at Numbers in Montrose back in 1997.
