The Heights continues to grow, and so does Brian Doke. Less than two months after opening a steakhouse speakeasy concept inside his other restaurant, Savoir, the restauranteur opened another concept just across the street. Heights & Co. patio and cocktail bar is now open at Yale Street and 14th Street.
More so than Doke’s other concepts, Savoir and Patton’s, both of which feature an atmosphere that is elegant, refined, and a touch swanky, will find Heights & Co. to be a lot more laid-back.
The 15,000-square-foot bar and patio, formerly occupied by TAQO Mexican Kitchen, features a variety of navy blue booths, wooden bar stools, as well as a framed window cutout leading to the patio. The 100-seat, dog-friendly patio sits underneath a signature pergola and large trees, with white picnic tables, scalloped chairs, and accompanying umbrellas.
“Heights & Co. is conceptualized to be a casual gathering spot for Houstonians near and far that provides guests with genuine service, delicious food, and high quality craft cocktails despite the laid-back ambiance,” said Doke is a press release.
“My goal is for Heights & Co. to add to the neighborhood’s robust array of food and beverage offerings and for it to serve as a place where Heights residents, Houstonians from other parts of the city, and visitors from out of town can gather together and enjoy well-made food and drinks in a fun, neighborhood bar atmosphere.”
As for the food front, the restaurant will feature a full kitchen menu headed by Executive Chef Eric Johnson. Its signature bites include Queso: Spinach & Artichoke Dip, corn-and-sweet-potato Hush Puppies, and Bruschetta. As for its entrees, the restaurant recommends their Bordelaise Burger with grilled onions, boursin cheese and bordelaise, Brisket Grilled Cheese with half-day-long smoked brisket on tasted brioche, Smoked Ribs, and Pork Schnitzel.
Employing an experienced bar team, Heights & Co. features a vibrant, carefully-curated beverage menu. Featured cocktails include the Salted Watermelon – rum, salted watermelon, and lime; The Spritz – sparkling rosé, aperol, and Topo Chico; Heights Pink Lemonade – vodka, rasperry-lyche, and lemon; and Olympians Delight – rum, strawberry, lime, coconut, and rosemary.
Heights & Co. is now open at 14th Street and Yale Street from 3 pm to midnight Mondays through Thursdays; noon to midnight Friday through Sunday. Stay tuned for further details on brunch and live music programming.
