Halloween season has arrived, and Houston is fully embracing the spooky spirit. From watering holes inside haunted houses and genuinely haunted pubs, to local spots transformed by extravagant decor and enchanting elixirs, here is your guide to the most festive Halloween bars in Houston this October.

Entry is free — reservations recommended and themed attire is encouraged.
The Cursed Cauldron returns for its fourth season at Incanto (1426 Yale) in The Heights, Houston, running October 2 through November 1. The spooky pop-up features an indoor Nightshade Parlor and outdoor Cauldron Conservatory, themed cocktails (including shareable “coven-size” drinks), seasonal sharing plates, and a packed weekly events calendar.

Black Lagoon transforms Nickel City HTX into a haunted, cocktail-filled wonderland this late September.
Nationally acclaimed cocktail pop-up Black Lagoon is returning for its 2026 North American tour and will take over Nickel City HTX in Houston late September, offering an immersive, goth-inspired haunted bar experience with theatrical cocktails and limited-edition glassware.
Betelgeuse Betegeuse

This pizza-and-cocktail joint has completely transformed for spooky season. Eerie lighting, dripping ooze, and hanging skeletons set the scene for a killer night out. While you’re soaking up the frights, grab a slice of their October special: the Fungi Fungi. Loaded with a mushroom medley, chèvre, arugula, and a brick-cheese base, this garlicky pie is guaranteed to ward off any lingering vampires.
Best Regards

The Heights lounge transforms into a 1926 grand hotel run by a ghostly staff for the Halloween season. Tables double as hotel rooms complete with keys and “Do Not Disturb” signs, while a hidden Prohibition-era speakeasy sits tucked away inside Room 222.
Themed cocktails and bites—like the Black Dahlia, Mini Beef Wellingtons, and caviar-topped hashbrowns—arrive at the table via room-service carts with traditional cloches. The pop-up wraps up with a Centennial Costume Ball on Halloween night to crown the best-dressed guest.
Jethro’s Cocktail Lounge House of Spirits

The retro-inspired Jethro’s Cocktail Lounge gets a spooky makeover this month with its “House of Spirits” takeover. Skeletons and moody decor fill the Montrose bar, setting the backdrop for a lineup of seasonal drinks. Grab their signature smash burger to pair with a “Witches Brew,” a mix of bourbon, Averna, mint, absinthe, and chamomile syrup.
The space keeps the energy up on weekends with Friday DJ sets, drink specials, and dedicated Saturday costume nights. The month-long takeover wraps up with two back-to-back blowouts to close out the holiday, featuring a pre-party followed by the main Halloween bash.
Endless Bummer

Tucked inside Betelgeuse Betelgeuse’s Montrose location, Endless Bummer is your new favorite tiki bar from the Netherworld. Described as “somewhere between death and vacation,” this surreal hangout is a dreamhouse of spirits adorned with altars, tropical flora, and bizarre creatures. It’s the perfect setting for you and your wayward companions to embark on a spirited journey this October.

Housed in one of the oldest buildings in Houston, La Carafe Wine Bar is a year-round haunt that offers an intimate, likely haunted, wine dive. Wax-crystallizing candles, chandeliers, and antique relics imbue the space with a darkly romantic atmosphere that’s topped off with a second-story balcony.

All drinks — including beer — are free with admission at Houston Scream Fest.
Houston Scream Fest returns October 2–November 7, 2026 at 1500 Elton St in Houston, featuring haunted attractions, H-Town Paintball, live music, a carnival midway, vendor booths and complimentary drinks included with admission.
HiFi at The Finn

Get into the Halloween spirit at HiFi at The Finn with their month-long “Spookeasy.” This festive pop-up features a dangerously good lineup of $13 seasonal cocktails, including the nostalgic Screamsicle Float (vodka, popcorn, butter, orange soda, candy corn, and vanilla) and the spicy Boozlebub (tequila, jalapeño, lime, rosemary, jasmine, crème de cassis, and agave). If you prefer something smoky, sip on the spirit-forward Devil’s Soul.
Round out the night with $8 themed shots like the champagne-foam-topped She Came Down in a Bubble, making HiFi the ultimate spot to raise a glass this October.
The Hideout at 13th Floor Haunted House

Need a little liquid courage with your Halloween scares? Tucked into a dark corner of 13th Floor Houston, The Hideout is a horror-themed secret bar where guests 21 and older can stop for a shot the attraction describes as coming “straight out of a nightmare fairy tale.”
There’s plenty to face beyond the bar, too. This year’s haunted attractions include the officially licensed Jason Universe: Survive the Night, an alien-experiment nightmare at Sector 9, and a decaying estate inhabited by cannibals. Other on-site activities include five-minute escape games, axe throwing and a GellyBall shooting experience featuring live zombie actors.
