Francesca’s is a nationwide women’s boutique known for its trendy wares, gifts, home decor, and jewelry. The company opened its first location in Houston in 1999. Since then, the company has opened stores across the country with now over 450 locations and over 3,400 employees across 45 states .
This week, the Women’s Wear Daily reported that the company would be closing all of its stores. Meanwhile, Francesca’s is liquidating its inventory with “last chance” warehouse clearance sales.
Presently there is no timeline when the company will officially close its brick-and-mortars. While the company has not yet made a public announcement, Francesca’s is presently offering clearance sales in person and through its online store. Additionally, its updated return policy reveals that all sales as of January 14 are final. Those who have purchased items before January 14 can still return items within 21 days.
The announcement follows the company’s filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2020 amid financial struggles associated with the pandemic as reported by USA Today. A year later, under new leadership, the company closed 140 of its 700 or so locations.

Francesca’s is presently liquidating its inventory, offering a “Warehouse Sale” on its website. At the time of this article, the retailer is offering clearance pricing with items on sale for $15 and under, including various sweater and dresses between $10 – $15 and jewelry items as low as $5. Additionally, a 30% off promotion is available for new arrivals and regular-priced items for the “Last Chance” sale.
