It’s the holiday season, Houston. While you’re putting together your lists of all the magical things to do during Christmas time in Houston, here’s something else to add to your list. Houston-born pop sensation Beyoncé will perform at the Houston Texans v. Baltimore Ravens halftime show on Christmas Day.
Beyoncé made the announcement on X/Twitter, where she uploaded a short Netflix-produced teaser featuring music from her track, Ameriican Requiem with the caption: HOUSTON, TEXAS – 12.25.24. In the clip Beyonce is standing a top a rose-covered car wearing cowboy attire holding a football.
Beyoncé previously performed at Super Bowl XLVII as well as Super Bowl XXXVIII where she sang the national anthem.
The football game takes place on Christmas Day at 3:30 pm CST at NRG Stadium in Houston. The football will be the second of two games – after the Kansas City Chiefs play the Pittsburgh Steelers – to be broadcast on streaming giant, Netflix, who are debuting their first-ever NFL Christmas Gameday event.
The last time that the Houston Texans faced off against the Baltimore Ravens, the Ravens defeated the Texans to advance to the AFC championship game.
According to a press release from the Houston Texans, this will be the first time that Beyoncé will perform tracks from her Billboard-topping album, Cowboy Carter, released this past March. The acclaimed album netted 11 Grammy nominations – the most of any female artist in a single year – for best country album, song of the year, and best album.
Beyoncé Knowles recently made headlines after she surpassed husband, Jay Z, with the most Grammy nominations of all time with said nominations for Cowboy Carter. Beyonce has yet, however, to receive the title – at least from the Grammys – of best album of the year.
