The World’s 50 Best—a premier online publication that reviews and ranks global hospitality destinations—officially named one Houston concept among the best bars in North America in its 2026 edition.
Stealing the spotlight for Houston – and Texas at large – is Bandista. Ranked at No. 47, Bandista is an ultra-exclusive speakeasy tucked inside the Four Seasons Hotel Houston at 1300 Lamar Street. The high-ranking marks a boost for the Houston bar, which formerly ranked on the 51 – 100 extended list at #59.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Bandista named among North America’s 50 Best Bars,” says Tom Segesta, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Houston, in a press release.
“Our incredible and creative team is always experimenting and innovating, ensuring that everyone who comes through the bookcase has an experience like no other.”
Opened in February 2022, the lounge offers a modern and sophisticated space. Emulating ambiance of a 1920s speakeasy – with a dash of latin flair – the intimate space accommodates a maximum of just 20 people at a time – 8 at the bar, 12 at the lounge.
Guests must secure a reservation in advance. Upon arrival, a hotel official escorts them upstairs to a password-protected bookcase that swings open to reveal the hidden cocktail lounge.

Once inside, patrons are granted a strict 90-minute window to indulge in a highly sophisticated cocktail program. The menu is celebrated for its inventive mixology, featuring standouts like the Dulce Far Niente—a decadent, tiramisu-inspired creation blended with mascarpone mousse—and the Writer’s Block 27, a vibrant gin-based cocktail spun with absinthe, pineapple, lime, and cucumber.
Bandista welcomes guests from 5 p.m. to midnight, Wednesday through Saturday.
