Adele’s Houston fans are feeling a little left out, and here’s why: the superstar hasn’t graced a H-Town stage since 2016. But fear not, Daydreamers — a series of live classical Adele tributes are bringing reimagined favorites like “Easy On Me” and “Rolling in the Deep” to one of Houston’s coolest museums that also doubles up as a super unique music venue.
It’s taking place inside Lone Star Flight Museum, giving fans the chance to hear Adele’s discography performed by a string quartet next to the wings of vintage planes and other rare aircraft. The show’s already received over 650 rave reviews and an average rating of 4.8 stars out of 5 in Houston, so you know these tributes are shaping up to be something pretty special.
What makes Adele’s music so tribute-worthy?
“Someone Like You”, “Hello”, “When We Were Young” — few artists capture the feeling of love and loss quite like Adele. And while her vocals and lyrics hit us in the feels every time, it’s the instrumentation of the music that really sets the scene for her songs. In fact, many of Adele’s biggest hits like “Skyfall” and “Set Fire to the Rain” feature string arrangements that bring an extra layer of depth to her signature sound.
That’s why this tribute nails the full Adele experience even without Adele herself on stage. There’s just something about hearing her songs played live on strings that really gets to the heart of what makes her music so special.
Houston’s Adele tribute concert: what, when and where
Performed by the Highline String Quartet, the setlist includes renditions of “Chasing Pavements”, “Rumor Has It”, “Hello” and more of Adele’s classics. This summer, there are multiple performances heading to Houston on these dates: August 9, August 28 and September 5. There’ll be taking place inside Lone Star Flight Museum located at Ellington Airport — home to over 40 vintage warbirds and classic civilian planes.
These performances are produced by the Candlelight series, so expect a sea of candles to bring an extra sprinkle of magic to your show. Each tribute takes place over the course of 60 minutes and start 45 minutes prior to the concert start time.
