3D Galerié is now open at the MarqE Entertainment Center.
What do Selena, Drake, and God have in common? All three make cameo appearances in the Houston’s pop-up 3D Galerié.
Great artists know how to make their work pop. While you might not find the likes of Rembrandt in Houston’s new pop-up gallery, you will find plenty of eye-popping pieces, with plenty of familiar faces along the way.
“The coolest art gallery in Houston is open in the MarqE Entertainment Center,” the gallery writes in an Instagram post. “Experience optical illusion paintings, interactive exhibits, BYOB sip and paint nights all at a limited capacity for social distancing! Masks required except when taking photos and sipping while painting!”
Saunter down the halls of MarqE Entertainment Center’s 3D Galerie, where pop culture pops out of the walls. Snap a selfie with Selena, stand at Kanye’s presidential podium that could have been, or sit in a throne among H-Town Kings DJ Screw and Pimp C. Join the mega rich in the Let Them Eat Cake room, hang from Brittney’s outgoing golden locks circa 2007, and witness the creation of Drake.
As mentioned, the gallery also holds sip and paint nights – but with a twist. Each 90-minute class is BYOW (Bring Your Own Wine), half the time spent wandering the gallery, and the other half painting their pop-culture superheroes, such as Frida Kahlo.
Tickets to the sip and paint session cost $35 a piece, while tickets to the gallery range from $10 – $15. The exhibit is closed on Mondays.
